I installed this game and it looks great, but I can play only in "Instant action". If I try to create a profile, it sends me back to the desktop with a segmentation fault. Does anybody know the reason?

hmm.. I seem to remember that happening to me too awhile back. Have you upgraded your copy to the latest version using the loki-installer ? (search for loki games w/ google I think)

yeah, the first release of ut2003 for linux only had support for nvidia cards, i heard. UT2k3 uses S3TC which linux can't support because of patent reasons. The new patch has support for DRI, it is called v2225.
