Aria2 works but not powerpill under proxy

I am using a university line with an authenticated proxy and have set it up using proxy.sh. Aria2 automatically picks up the proxy variables and works perfectly with pacman. But, I get connection  timeout error in powerpill. I have tried adding all-proxy as an additional aria2 parameter in powerpill.conf, but that does not work.
