wmii default column mode

I'm using wmii-hg, and anytime I create a new column, it defaults to using stack mode. I'd much prefer it used the default tiling mode. I am using the default config (/etc/wmii-hg/wmiirc), customized slightly - http://archlinux.pastebin.com/f2d51290c . Is this happening because of some mistake I made, or is this the new default for wmii? Is there any way to change this behavior?

Yeah, the default column mode is no longer "default".

wmiir xwrite /ctl "colmode default"
