Help downgrading to 2.6.8 (cedega issues)

Hi all,

After upgrading my system from slackware 10.0pre to archlinux I am experiencing problems running cedega 4.0 (using commercial binaries). None of the games that I had working before the reinstall run under arch (tried Tony Hawk 3, Xwing vs Tie-fighter, Warcraft 3).

I had a look at the latest cedega changelog, which states that there is a known ptrace-problem causing copy protection to fail with kernel versions >= 2.6.9. The link can be found here:

   http://downloads.transgaming.com/files/ … enotes.txt

As I'd like to be able to play some games now and then, I'd like to try if cedega works better with kernel 2.6.8. My problem is that I am a complete kernel compilation noob, so I hope someone can help me out:

1. Is there someone that still has 2.6.8 compiled pkgs around?
2. If not, can I use the 2.6.10 kernel "config" to recompile using
the 2.6.8 sources? Or were there changes that would make this
     a not_so_good idea?
3. If 1&2 fail, could someone provide me with a 2.6.8 stock kernel
     "config" & PKGBUILD?

Use the Arch CVS repository  to get the PKGBUILD and needed files.
