Hi everyone,
usually, when clicking the button "Properties" in the wicd-client, a new window pops up where you can apply some settings like ip and gateway.
Since i did a fresh install of arch linux today nothing happens when clicking "Properties". Strangely enough, this only applies to my wired connection and one wireless connection i have connected with. I can still access the properties of other wireless networks that show up on the scan.
I get this error message in the terminal when trying to open the Properties:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/share/wicd/gtk/gui.py", line 644, in edit_advanced
dialog.set_values()
File "/usr/share/wicd/gtk/netentry.py", line 335, in set_values
self.txt_dhcp_hostname.set_text(dhcphname)
File "/usr/share/wicd/gtk/guiutil.py", line 147, in set_text
self.entry.set_text(text)
TypeError: Gtk.Entry.set_text() argument 1 must be string, not dbus.Int32
Is this a bug or am i doing sth wrong?

You are not supposed to use wicd-client anymore. You should use wicd-gtk, wicd-curses or wicd-qt but I'm not sure if that is your problem or not.

Thanks, but wicd-gtk gives me the same error. Any idea what's causing this?

I don't have a tray. I start wicd with "wicd-gtk -n". Good to know though, thanks.

I put already dbus in DAEMONS line, bus still no luck, and also I was trying to install mystery pynotify which was not found in db...got no clue
I think that refers to python-notify which is in the db. Will it solve your problem I don't know. Hope it does good luck.

Does it connect at all? I didn't see if said it did or not just that the connections that properties worked on.
