Original DVD does not get recognized

Hi,

My original DVD's were no longer recognized. CD's and DVD's burned by me all work ok.

I think the error must be due to a malfunction of HAL because the DVD.

I lost the weekend searching in google and trying solutions I've seen in the forum, but I had no luck sad

Does anyone else has had this problem?

I have installed libdvdcss and libdvdread, everything worked fine, but after an upgrade the notebook failed to recognize the original DVD's.

When I insert a DVD(only with original's) the reader spin but nothing happens,  there is not even new dmesg output. This makes me think there must be a error with hal.
