linuxwacom Issues

So I have a Lenovo X61 tablet and I have had consistent issues with wacom drivers ever since the new xorg server came out (Ver 1.7). Mainly that I can't get the thing to even detect the devices. I installed the xf86-input-wacom-git from aur, but alas, it didn't solve the issue. I was preventing xorg from updating to version 1.7 in order to keep the old linuxwacom aur package from breaking but it came to my attention that xf86-input-wacom had fixed this issue with the new xorg. Anyway here are some tests to try and find if xorg or anything was even detecting the wacom devices:

[~>] if [ -z `grep -o wacom /proc/bus/input/devices | head -n 1` ];then echo "No such device";fi
No such device
[~>]
^I did that just to show I didn't just omit the result.

Description    : X.Org X servers

I honestly don't have any idea as to what I'm doing wrong but if someone could help it would be greatly appreciated
On a side note, I'm new to the forum so, yeah Hi smile.

[Edit]
Here are some other tests I did:
[~>] if [ -z $(grep wacom -o <<<"`lsof`;`lsusb`;`lsdev`" | head -n 1) ];then echo "No such device";fi
No such device

daemons I have:
[~>] tail -n 1 /etc/rc.conf
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng !network hal fam netfs !iptables networkmanager crond alsa @acpid ntpdate @ntpd wacom-names slim)

If it matters I am NOT using an xorg.conf.
[/Edit]

[UPDATE]
I got some wacom devices working, touch works fully now, apparently the devices had the wrong IRQ for the kernel. A simple: "setserial /dev/ttyS0 port 0x0200 irq 5 autoconfig" fixed this issue. I then reinstated my old xorg.conf with the wacom devices (Gathered from http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Len … X61T#Xorg).

Now, however, I have a new issue. It seems like the X wacom driver is having some issues starting.

More specifically I'm concerned about:
(WW) stylus: unable to read ISDV4 % data after 3 tries at (38400)
(II) UnloadModule: "wacom"
and the "wcmSerialValidate: bad magic" lines. Like I said, the touch device works just fine, but the stylus pointer goes berserk when I try to click something using the stylus.

Re: linuxwacom Issues

Does anyone know why it unloads the Wacom driver for X? I get the impression that X is trying to use a mouse driver in place of the wacom driver and the stylus doesn't work because of the pressure sensitivity.

Re: linuxwacom Issues

I experience the jumpy stylus pointer on my X60 tablet (running Debian, also Xorg 1.7). I just opened a bug report:

https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=d … tid=525124

There's also this related bug report from someone with an X41 tablet:

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.ph … tid=525124

Have you made any more progress getting things working with Arch?
