I use Dragon Player with Xine to play my videos, but obviously the previews in Dolphin are powered by MPlayer.
For some reason, MPlayer takes up 100% of my CPU, and the video will thus stutter, until I kill MPlayer, then it works.
Anyone else have this problem?

The same problem here on KDEmod 4.4. When I enter a folder containing video files, especially it happens when those are HD videos (like MKV), suddenly many instances of MPlayer appear and consume all of my CPU power. The only thing that helps is killing them with
killall mplayerIt's very annoying, because it happens also when I try to view those video files in another player, like VLC.

"... being a Linux user is sort of like living in a house inhabited by a large family of carpenters and architects. Every morning when you wake up, the house is a little different. Maybe there is a new turret, or some walls have moved. Or perhaps someone has temporarily removed the floor under your bed."

I get this on and off now, but I've become used to just killing all mplayer processes :S
Probably should file a bug.
try changing video output, try xv, gl, gl2 or even vdpau if you have an nvidia card. the later is the best.
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
