monitor video ram usage

howdy all

after reading [wiki]Swap_on_video_ram[/wiki] and experimenting with it on a headless server, i would like to take it to another level and try it on my AAO. But first I would like to monitor the VGA ram usage, does anyone know an 'easy' way to do this? Or is there maybe a tool to monitor specific memory regions?
