(SOLVED)Log in to KDEmod and get "Could not start D-Bus.

Hello All

This is my first install.  I can log in to KDEvmod but am immediately confronted with a window that says

Log in to KDEmod and get "Could not start D-Bus.  Can you call qdbus?

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to solve it.

You should have at least hal in your rc.conf's DAEMONS array. If you already have it, you need to reboot or issue /etc/rc.d/hal start

hal is a daemon required by the xorg server, and it will start dbus when started.

qdbus gives

could not connect to D-Bus server: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.ExecFailed: /usr/bin/dbus-launch terminated abnormally with the following error: Autolaunch error: X11 Initialization failed.

This my first install of Arch and its seems like I have already reached in inpasse.  It does not bode well.  I have searched high and lo through google.  The issue is out there but no solution.  how can this be?
