Sound issue.

Good evening!
Now, time for some introduction, I'm not a new guy into UNIX. I know over the normal, been using Freebsd over the years instead of Linux, but recently, I've got a HP 6530b laptop.
Which i couldn't install Freebsd (Damn you Hitachi!).

Anyway so i tested Archlinux and to my surprise it really was a damn good Distro, everything runs smooth and clean. But theres one thing that i would be grateful to be helped with. I've tried to follow the arch.wiki guide with alsa.

But it seems it doesn't work, I choosed snd_hda_intel. Which Amarok didn't like.. So i apologize if i declare myself as a "dumb" Linux user.

Re: Sound issue.

Do you install phonon-xine?
Do you have any error, or something?
Run amarok from console.

Re: Sound issue.

I have HP 3065, and got Arch for few days. I've installed sound (SBx00 AZALIA (Intell HDA) like this

pacman -S alsa-utils alsa-oss
alsaconf
alsamixer #volume settings

sound runs gRReat, but when I put my headphones sound comes from the speaker %)

Re: Sound issue.

You should google it.

Looks like you need:
options snd-hda-intel model=laptop

gstreamer0.10-bad-plugins
gstreamer0.10-ugly-plugins

What happens when you run aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav?

Have you added your user to the audio group?

gpasswd -a {username} audio
