Hello,
I've installed skype and the installation went fine but I cannot start it. I get this error message.
[mak@myhost ~]$ skype
skype: error while loading shared libraries: libSM.so.6: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
[mak@myhost ~]$
I've searched the forum but found no reference to this error.
My system is 64 bit running under kde 4.4.
Could anyone help me fixing this error?
Thanks a lot,
jmak

Do you have installed libsm package?
sudo pacman -S libsm

on x86_64 it would be lib32-libsm for skype, if you used the aur package bin32-skype 2.1.0.81 (bin32-skype-oss doesnt work since the version was updated and skype no longer provides an oss package on the new version. check out the aur/bug report if you need the oss version for a link to the older version 2.0.0.72)

"I know what you're thinking, 'cause right now I'm thinking the same thing. Actually, I've been thinking it ever since I got here:
Why oh why didn't I take the BLUE pill?"

Thanks a lot for the advises. Now, skype is working. The strange thing is that lib32-libsm was installed and it was up to date. I reinstalled it and after that skype worked.
