I have sound blaster 128pci (snd-ens1371).
I run Opera, play a song in xmms and turn on for example archlinux.org. When I get mouse over links, I have extreamly crapy "crack". The same at other pages. Problem is also in firefox, amarok. I don't use arts.
Has anyoune the same problem? Does enyone know what I can do?

Do you also get the cracking sound when you do other intensive tasks? Maybe you should recompile a kernel and add in Con Kolivas' -ck patchset. I've never had any cracking with such a kernel.

renice -19 xmms doesn't help, so i think, that's not problem of cpu.
