Recent upgrade of vim&gvim generates assertion errors in console

Hi guys,

Have you guys encountered this issue after recent upgrades of vim & gvim:

** (gvim:17054): CRITICAL **: gtk_form_set_static_gravity: assertion `static_gravity_supported' failed

** (gvim:17054): CRITICAL **: gtk_form_set_static_gravity: assertion `static_gravity_supported' failed

** (gvim:17054): CRITICAL **: gtk_form_set_static_gravity: assertion `static_gravity_supported' failed

** (gvim:17054): CRITICAL **: gtk_form_set_static_gravity: assertion `static_gravity_supported' failed

** (gvim:17054): CRITICAL **: gtk_form_set_static_gravity: assertion `static_gravity_supported' failed

This happens when running gvim in the console. It works all fine except the warnings. Downgrading to version 7.2.266 can avoid this.

Re: Recent upgrade of vim&gvim generates assertion errors in console

I have the same problem. I also just downgraded, as you described, to make it go away.

I had googled around for this but didn't found anything actually relevant until I found this thread.

Which makes me suspect that it's not a common problem.

Which makes me suspect that it might be because I'm using an old version of the "awesome" window manager and an old version of libev.

leeyee, are you also using old version of either of these packages?

Re: Recent upgrade of vim&gvim generates assertion errors in console

I also have encountered the issue after a recent upgrade. I don't think it is a rare issue, because this same thing happened with an Ubuntu release. It was coincidentally one of the main reasons I moved to arch-- quicker upgrade cycles.

In the case of Ubuntu though, it was a documented bug that happened across the entire gnome-based distribution. This was when the most recent release of Ubuntu came out (5 months ago?).

Re: Recent upgrade of vim&gvim generates assertion errors in console

this issue is gone after recent upgrade to 7.2.368-3.

@mollison, I'm using standard gnome, and all parts of it have been up to date.
