I'd have to disagree, as I only ever use abs from behind a proxy. What's your network configuration?

linux server, ms isa proxy wth authentification, proventia web filter, a squid proxy then. wget, pacman do well, cvsup does not.

The abs stuff runs on port 5999 not over HTTP.
