What's the dealio? ...or, is it just me...

Is this something new? Why are the google ads appearing in Chinese glyphs?

If that's intentional...I for one welcome our new Chinese overlords to these forums...

It's not just me, right? See...it's up there again as I type. When you click on the ad, it takes you to google with everything written in Chinese glyphs (or whatever you call 'em)...

I know a guy whos parents are "off the boat" from Taiwan... he speaks perfect english, but his parents are bad at it. Anyway, he emailed her one day from his gmail account, and she replied. Now gmail has context sensitive ads on the side of the gmail interface... all the ads were like "Buy this book: 'Learn English Now'" and "USA Citizenship Study Guide only $9.95"... I was in tears...

On topic? Sure, why not...speaking of which Phrakture, one of my best friends in college was from Vietnam. He told me the story of how him, his family, and several others were crammed into a small "dingy" when they floated here to America. Very very interesting story he shared indeed.

Needless to say, I love immigrants, especially those who'll brave several thousand kilometers in a wooden raft, amongst shark infested waters, inclement weather, and starvation. Comeon "home" my Asian brothers and sisters...and Cubans, Jamaiicans, and even the Mexicans who like to swim across the Rio Grande river here in Texas.

Yeah, I'd probably do that, but I keep looking up at the top of the screen while I post. I'm hoping that sooner or later some of those Chinese symbols will match the Assembly manual instructions for my "stereo cabinet". Then, I'll click on it and run it through google's translator...
