CUPS Problem

After finally getting around to reinstalling my printer, I've run into a rather strange issue. According to CUPS each test document prints out fine. However nothing comes out of the printer. After doing some digging through dmesg I've managed to narrow down the issue to this one line.

usb 1-1: usbfs: interface 2 claimed by usb-storage while 'usb' sets config #1

Any ideas on how to resolve the issue short of temporarily blacklisting usb-storage?

UPDATE: I've made some progress by unblacklisting usblp and getting rid of the udev rules that I had created earlier. However the printer still refuses to print out a test page. As far as CUPS is concerned the document has printed out properly, but nothing has come out of the printer itself.
