Yeah, that's correct. I thought about installing a graphical pacman/aur app, but i opted to just do that manually so i know what i'm doing.
Gah! We seem to be talking past each other. I was merely pointing out a situation where symlinks would be preferable over aliases. Google 'debian alternatives' if you are curious enough. (For pedantry, you're not doing it by hand unless you're using tar. )

Interesting! I will keep it in mind! I can have both installed right?
Hey, how do I see which packages i've installed via pacman/yaourt/packer ?

alias aur='yaourt -S'
As a matter of fact, you don't even need "-S" when using Yaourt to install packages.
@Misfit138: thanks for the Packer link.

Use pacman -Qe to list packages explicitly installed or pacman -Q to list them all. Don't use yaourt for this, as it is much slower in showing this info (but you do get a nicely coloured list).

pacman -Qm will tell you all the packages you have installed that aren't in a repo.

hehe yeah Thanks misfit for the Pack link!
Yeah, true that fsckd! Installing tar packages manually is trully "by hand" haha. That'd be very time consuming! Are there any apps that install tar general tar packaged apps?
Thanks for the tips everyone!
