Starting mc from a bash-script using dialog

Hi there.

I'm writing a script that uses "dialog" for a menu.

When I try to start midnight commander "mc" I get this error: Cannot get terminal settings: Invalid argument (22).

I can't run truecrupt either or any other of my scripts that needs input from me.

Does any have a clue? It's obvious a terminal setting issue. But I can't find any help on google. I've tried to "clear" the screen and "reset" before starting "mc". I've tried in "konsole" and in tty1 with the same result.

Thanks in advance.

Howdy, a few questions for you.

Do you have ncurses installed?

Do you have a /usr/share/terminfo directory?  or a ./termcap directory?

What emulation mode are you running? e.g. vt100, linux console etc....

Are you using a frame buffer driver?
