playing .mkv with mplayer-vdpau does not work

Hi,

My System is a Atom 330 with an Nvidia ION. The Atom is running at 2 GHz.

I installed the mplayer-vdpau-svn from aur. With this i tried to play a .mkv file.

Without the vdpau parameters the Movie is running, but too slow. When i use the

parameters -vc ffh264vdpau -vo vdpau the mplayer sad that "vo: couldn't open the X11 display ()!"

After setting DISPLAY to :0.0 the output was "vo: couldn't open the X11 display (:0.0)!"

Can somebody help me, please?!

Im not Realy an X user but in this case i think i need it, right?

Greatings

Yes, you need X for VDPAU.

btw, you can simply stick to stock mplayer package from extra, which has vdpau support compiled in, but you will need X.

Re: playing .mkv with mplayer-vdpau does not work

Okay

X is up and shows me the twm with some xterms.

when i now start the mplayer with die -vo vdpau the twm needs a mousclick the put the mplayer window on the Desktop, but my problem is that i don´t have a mous on this machine. I tryed the -fs option, but it doesn´t change anything.

Is there a solution for that Problem?
