new to python, is there a idle for linux???

:? Just starting python, using "Python Programming for the absolute beginner", apparently it is written for windows! If I type python at the command prompt I get a python something or other. It's not the IDLE. Is there no IDLE for linux? The something or other works, but it's not interactive, I can't open saved files, etc. Anybody willing to offer any assistance? Thanks -- Larry smile

Oh ok

Yes idle is there... it's part of python tongue

Just be sure that you install python and tk:

pacman -S python tk

after that, idle will be there smile
