kde suspend to disk broke sound

Just as the title says, knowing my track record I'll probably figure this out two seconds after I post but does anyone have any advice on this one?  I figure it must be a configuration file or something that is being written during suspension that told the audio device (hp dv4 laptop with intel audio) to stop and not start... Thoughts?
