[SOLVED] Some help with a Russian thread, please.

Dear Russian-speaking Archers,

Please forgive my inability to address you in Russian, but I'm wondering if anyone can answer this question.

I'm wondering if the Russian-language thread linked below describes a fix to the problem of KDE4.4 displaying the error message "Error launching /usr/share/applications/kde4/KMail.desktop. Either KLauncher is not running anymore, or it failed to start the application" when I try to launch KMail (or nearly any other KDE4.4 applet, in which case "KMail.desktop" becomes "other-applet.desktop").

Here's the thread:

Spasiba!

My Russian's a little rusty but it looks like this is about a problem with kdebase-startkde-9999 that was fixed in the 4.4.0 release.

I just glanced through, but it describes another issue when KDE doesn't load but interrupts. There's no solution described either, only a comment that it got solved by itself when the final 4.4.0 version was released.

The original poster of that thread eventually stated that after upgrading to 4.4.0 his problem was gone AND this is actually a different problem so it's not really relevant.
