how can I configure my Dell I8200 to suspend my laptop or just turn off the display when I close my display?

I've been looking for without succes  :cry:

try "pacman -S acpid" and add acpid to the DAEMONs array in rc.conf

In my system(Inspiron 8600 BIOS A13), it is the BIOS which cares about switching my screen off after a certain amount of time.

I suggest you get latest bios from DELL and the latest kernel.

If you install acpid, you will have to configure it for it wont shut off your screen if you dont tell it to.
