[solved]Arch setup not detecting new HDD

Hey all,

So I just put a new comp together and am excited to get arch back up and running. Though when I boot up into the setup/install cd, arch cannot detect my internal SATA drive.

The drive is a WD VelociRaptor 300GB 10000RPM drive.. I've attempted to locate the drive through fdisk and cfdisk, but it cannot find the drive. The BIOS detects it as a master drive and if I boot up a Windows 7 CD, it detects the drive right away.

I've attempted to format a partition through a PE environment, but arch still doesn't recognize the entire drive..

Any suggestions??

Ok, issue is resolved now..

Fix was to set the SATA to AHCI rather than IDE
