hald-probe-inpu segfault

I'm having problems getting netcfg to pick the right network to try when booting. I don't know if this is related: I get a cool error while booting (the segfault).

part of dmesg output:

iwl3945 0000:0b:00.0: firmware: requesting iwlwifi-3945-2.ucode

Just occurred to me, maybe there is something wrong with the order of my daemons in /etc/rc.conf:

DAEMONS=( syslog-ng !netfs !crond @net-profiles !net-auto acpid laptop-mode cpufreq @alsa @openntpd @hal @fam @gdm )

When I log in, I'm not connected to a network.  I can then run netcfg home and be connected just fine, but nothing is automatic on boot.  So...what's up with the segfault?  UPDATE: this time it connected automatically, despite the segfault.

Let me know if I need to post anything else.  I'm new to Arch so IDK what output might be useful.

Re: hald-probe-inpu segfault

Not using netcfg, but also getting that exact segfault.

EDIT: I'll clarify. I'm in the middle of a new install, so there isn't much installed at all beyond HAL/xorg/xmonad. Using x86_64

Re: hald-probe-inpu segfault

Same here, not using Netconfig either. Oddly, this is only affecting my desktop machine, my laptop doesn't have this problem (both utilize the same repos, no testing). It doesn't seem to do anything harmful, I just noticed it in the logs.

I have a static IP assigned to my desktop, my laptop connects via DHCP well after boot whenever I need it with a custom script I made.

Re: hald-probe-inpu segfault

No help to offer (at this point) other than a "me too."
Not using netcfg...my error comes after loading of my USB HD.
NOT quite exact error either  it is a hald-probe-inpu(t)  error and segfault in same lib (libc-2.11.1.so)

I'll do a little more searching too and see what I can find on this

Re: hald-probe-inpu segfault

Anybody ever find a solution to this?  My system just started running into this problem as well.
