gaim fails to connect

hey people,

today I did a pacman -Syu, and now gaim doesnt connect to msn anymore... It just hangs at "connecting"... and then after a while it gives an: unable to connect messenger.hotmail.com... does this sound familiar to anyone? does it have anything to do with ssl or something?
and then this: can I downgrade to gaim 1.1.2? cause it worked then...

pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/gaim-1.1.2-2.pkg.tar.gz
