recovering lost space!

ok so i initially dual booted windows and arch... and i finally got the nerve to completely delete windows.
and i want to add all the unnallocated space to my /home partition. fortunately they are right next to one another on my hdd.
so my question is can i just add it with gparted? will that change the labels of anything? or can i just do it and call it a day?
will there be any repercussions?

Re: recovering lost space!

gparted can do it, but you will need to change your grub configuration file and fstab file accordingly

Re: recovering lost space!

so turns out my boot partition is in between the unallocated space and /home.
how do i get around this and combine unallocated and /home?

Easiest option is to go burn the gparted livecd. With none of the partitions mounted you will have no trouble at all moving them around.

If you have a spare hdd, a better option than moving/resizing is to simply copy over your data, repartition and format, then copy back.  Moving/resizing can take a long time and there is some risk involved with it as well.
