Since the smbclient update to version 3.5.0 I get an error when trying to mount a share via the smb protocol in konqueror:
The process for the smb://192.168.1.1 protocol died unexpectedlyDoes anyone have an idea on that? It works fine with the 3.4.6 version of smbclient.

Happens to me too

Please examine the pacman cache for the subject smbclient and determine the .pkg.tar extension...is it gz or is it xz?

I've got the same problem, so i'm jumping into the thread.

I don't get it Sir:
What is that supposed to have to do with the problem?

I'm having the same problem. Any news on this?

I am having the same problem as well. There is another thread here which claims to have solved the problem.
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=92708
Basically, the recommendation was to downgrade smbclient as the 3.5 version was buggy. However, when I try to downgrade smbclient, I get an the following error message.
[sam@sony pkg]$ sudo pacman -U smbclient-3.4.6-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
loading package data...
checking dependencies...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: samba: requires smbclient>=3.5.1
I ignored the message with pacman -Ud and it seems to have solved the problem.
Hope this helps
