Ok, so I try not to be a moaner about package updates, I understand that packagers have their own lives, but please, is it possible to update 'kadu' package (IM program)?
0.6.5.4 was released a month ago, and /extra still has 0.6.5.3-1.1
Thanks ![]()

What is the problem with taking the existing PKGBUILD, modifying it and then building yourself? If it's easy, just do it. If it's complicated, then that might explain the delay.
Good ideas do not need lots of lies told about them in order to gain public acceptance.

It's in /extra, not in AUR.
There are some kadu packages in AUR, but they are ones like 'kadu-svn' and there is none which supply just regular 'kadu' package.

you can still get the PKGBUILD from extra, either using ABS or just downloading it from the website.

i don't want to spoil the fun but:
CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/FindPkgConfig.cmake:339 (message):
None of the required 'libgadu>=1.9.0' foundthat means that this update will be delayed until libgadu will be updated. not only that, but until upstream is marking this release stable.

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

So, we have to wait until libgadu reaches stable 1.9.0?
(According to this site:
http://translate.google.com/translate?j … l=pl&tl=en
It's still 1.9.0-rc3)

Hejka, if you are using x86_64 here are packages you ask for:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4321633/libgadu … pkg.tar.gz
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4321633/kadu-gi … pkg.tar.gz
this kadu-git is indeed 0.6.5.4 stable (with gg8 support etc).
you can always build libgadu-devel and kadu-git (but as i see on comments there are some problems with it Edit:although ive just succesfully builded this package without errors and it's signed as 0.6.5.5-svn version) from aur:
http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=30209
http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=31975
Edit:And...
So, we have to wait until libgadu reaches stable 1.9.0?
no, you dont need to wait for stable 1.9.0, rc3 is working really good.
