looking for a frontend for recording analog tv

I have an analog card:

05:01.0 Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Video Capture (rev 11)
05:01.1 Multimedia controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Audio Capture (rev 11)

I can watch tv with tvtime, but i would like to record as well. I tried Mythtv, but I couldn't set it up (couldn't scan/find channels). Actually I don't need mythtv, but I couldn't find anything for recording (with my card) in Gnome. If you have any suggestion please let me know.

did you try guvcview or xawtv, i'm not sure they have the capture-functionality you're seeking but they're worth checking out in my opinion.

Well, guvcview not really good at least for me, but xawtw seems to be fine however I have to dig into it how to configure properly, since I haven't been able to record with it but I will try. Thanks.
