I'm currently porting it over to C, so I'm no longer using nltk. Thanks for your contribution, though.
P.S. I'm using a chatbot library that I wrote. So far I have the "chatting" part written in about 50 lines (using the library).

Ah, ok, well at least I learned the basics of nltk
Looking forward to a C version.
EDIT: I started writing my own, it's called Pretzel, uses my meaning comparison function, and it is here for those who are interested:

Would it be possible to add variables into the chat memory?
For example:
open .*:/shell \1 &
This would be nice so you don't have to have a open program :/shell program for every program.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think I'll add it though. It goes against cookie's policy of "just works". (Which is why I wrote an AI).
P.S. I'm about 2/3 done writing cookie 0.2 which will have improved grammar analysis and a better note-taking system.

The thing I'm scared about with these AI assistant things is...
>>> open firefox
Running `sudo rm -rf /`
>>> NOOOO!!! STOP IT! STOP!
I'm afraid I cannot do that for you, ${USER}.
>>> Ctrl+c Ctrl+c Ctrl+c
I'm never going to give you up, ${USER}.

I no longer have shell command execution as it doesn't (imho) fall under the catagory of "secretary".
