Running multiple gfx drivers on portable drive

So, I have a 250GB portable hard drive lying around. I plan to install Arch on it.

However, would it be prudent to install the whole xf86-video-drivers package and all ATI/Nvidia drivers, because I would like graphics acceleration when I am booting from this portable drive on any other computer. Do I have to manually configure xorg.conf?

Archers take their arrows in the knee.
