gnome-extra menu?...yes again! no answer found[SOLVED]

Hi all,

I know about gnome being very minimalist in AL for some reason, but for everyone else who likes gnome's ORIGINAL default menu structure and installed programs, I can see no solution yet. (epiphany, etc) I have searched this forum and have found many talking about an inexistent "gnome-extra" group that magically installs all default programs found in every other distro, minimalist or not (eg Debian). So where is this group hiding?
I hope the response isnt "oh, you have to manually install everyhing you need, isn't that great?!". I honestly believe the USER should have the options open, not the maintainer.

Thanks all

To install gnome-extra:
pacman -S gnome-extra
To get a list of all the groups:
pacman -Sg

I tried that and it didnt work... Maybe my installation is all messy.
Anyways, can you explain where you found out about gnome-extra? Cause its not in the wiki, at least not in a sane place

Re: gnome-extra menu?...yes again! no answer found[SOLVED]

In the wiki i've searched for gnome and this is the result:
http://wiki2.archlinux.org/index.php/GNOME

How to install the GNOME Desktop

To install the base GNOME Desktop, run:

     # pacman -S gnome

To install the rest of the GNOME Desktop (highly recommended), run:

     # pacman -S gnome-extra

But when I tried searching for gnome-extra it didnt work, but it clearly exists - anyone knows why?

Re: gnome-extra menu?...yes again! no answer found[SOLVED]

Thank you! I thought it must be somewhere in the wiki. I also searched for gnome-extra to no avail.
I seriously suggest that the wiki be reorganised cause its not functional at all, you get redirected all over the place (this happens with alsa i believe but i cant remember for sure...maybe kde???) when you try and follow the instructions.
DONT FLAME ME FOR WHAT I'M ABOUT TO SAY!
(i bet someone does anyway...)
Gentoo has the best organisation in BOTH docs and wiki. People can learn from them. After all, OSS right...?

Re: gnome-extra menu?...yes again! no answer found[SOLVED]

"pacman -Ss gnome-extra" shows nothing because gnome-extra is not a package but a group.
"pacman -Sg gnome-extra" shows the packages that belongs to the gnome-extra group.
"pacman -Sg" will list all available groups.

kcy29581, the neat thing about wikis is that they're free for you to edit.

Jump right in!

I'm sure everybody here respects Gentoo for what they do, but Arch doesn't have nearly the user base. Gentoo has great docs and organization because people with a strong sense of direction took control in those areas. There really aren't many people involved in Arch, so if you can help out, please do. (And I'm not saying that to condescend... I really mean it!)
