[Solved] The Process for SMB Died Unexpectedly

For some reason none of my three Arch machines can talk to eachother. (One desktop and two laptops). I get the error message as stated in the subject. Oddly enough, my Ubuntu machines and even Windows machines can connect to my Arch machines and access shares no problem whatsoever. I only have this issue when talking to Arch machines from another Arch machine. Is Samba having issues right now? I think it was recently updated.

Nevermind, I downgraded smbclient and samba to 3.4.6 and that fixed the problem. Apparently 3.5.0 is buggy.

I cant downgrade as I don't have the old package in my cache. Anyone have any idea of how this could be fixed.... do I have to wait until they fix this bug?

Eazy1, you can get old package from some mirrors. For example, here: http://schlunix.org/archlinux/

Re: [Solved] The Process for SMB Died Unexpectedly

Yes, thanx. Should have read the wiki first: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dow … g_Packages Got it working with the old version, but I would like to know what the problem is in the newest version.

I have been a Debian user for some years, but I was never afraid of doing any upgrades from the package manager. Here in Arch I think twice before I upgrade anything, but I guess that is the nature of using a distro with the latest packages.
