Can't boot past Udev

When I boot the system, the bootup hangs when i get the 'Udev uevents' phase.  I have no idea what to do.   Any ideas?

How long have you been waiting? It takes almost a minute on my slower machine.

Re: Can't boot past Udev

Looks like I fixed it.  It turned out to be a problem with that buggy kernel release.  Reverting to an old kernel took care of it.

Thanks!

I had the same problem, it seems that udev needs netlink option activated, it's somewhere in the networking options and maybe it needs netlink connector (or something like that) support  too.

Re: Can't boot past Udev

That happened to me also, but instead of going back to an older kernel, I found another fix. Idk about your machine, but the updated kernel did not like my broadcom wireless card and disabling the ssb and b43 modules worked great for me. Maybe that'll help you as well with the newer kernel.
