Open Office - only install writer?

I don't need any of the other programs provided in openoffice-base.  Is there a way to obtain only "writer"?  I'm set on open office as opposed to other word processors.  I'll install base if I have to, but my hard drive is very small...every little bit counts.

No.  And even if there was, the "base" part of openoffice is the largest bit so you would be saving very little.  Perhaps abiword would be a suitable replacement?

I thought that may be the case...bummer.  Oh well, I'll just try and save that space elsewhere.

As for Abiword: I have to use the school's computers often to print, and luckily they all have OO instead of just MSoffice.  As my crazy history teacher said: the most efficient program is the one you know best.  So, OO is the only program I've been reluctant to try to replace, as it's the only program I truly need for school.  I'm sure I'll try Abiword after I graduate if I ever need to make a word document.

Thanks man.
And for the record, I never considered buying a "Blame Allan" shirt
