Independent Game Festival. Have you seen it?

I was looking at the 2DBoy website and I saw mention of a game called Monaco.  I did some searching and found a link to the presentations:

As far as I know World of Goo has been the only game I played from and independent studio like 2DBoy and I really liked it.  Watching some of the different entries at the IGF got me thinking, dam there look to be some really good games out there that I've never even heard of.  I've been thinking about games like these and was wondering: does anyone follow these projects?  If you do, can you tell me some good indie games coming out this year? (the IGF ceremonies don't give a lot of details about the games)  Also are any of these coming out on Linux.  I like to see these new games and new companies so maybe I'll get lucky and they'll take a chance and produce a Linux version... wouldn't that be nice?

Well, it's not for Linux (although works fine with Wine), but you surely know about Braid, right? If not, stop whatever you are doing and go try it! You'll use parts of your brain that you didn't even knew existed big_smile </marketing>

Yeah, Braid.  Got to try the demo, thought is was real good.  I hav yet to see the whole awards as my computer went smile, wil try to watch by the weekend.  Gonna see if any of these show some Linux consideration.  Will check out overgrowth, and yeah had heard of unigine, but nothing for awhile now.  I know too that LGP was looking at something like OverGrowth, can't remember the name, but looked pretty interesting too.  Oh, and thanks for reminding me about Braid, that be a game I'd like to finish.

Braid's fine in wine. Another indie gem to check out is Spelunky. Trust me it'll make you swear more than any other game. Fine in wine if you're running NVIDIA proprietary, not tried intel and it's a bit spooky under ATI open driver. Not tested it with proprietary mind.

Please be patient, I'm a n00b on Arch (only 2 years on Ubuntu) so I may say something stupid!
PS thank you to all those who contribute awesomeness to the AUR and the main packages, you guys have made my computer so much more fun to use!

Yes!  And a good point.  A very good game the first three of Penumbra, and a good reason to upgrade my graphics card. smile  My only hope is that it runs smoothly on Linux.

Mikko777, caught a nice fish in the dark.  Looks like we'll see a Unigine game come relatively soon (Q4 of 2010).  I'm not sure how serious this game is, it looks more like a project to me, but we'll see.  It's called Primal Carnage – Humans VS Dinosaurs and the screenshots are well Unigine-like.  I read this in Linux Mag which also looked at several other indi games.

I have yet to see the rest of the video.  If time permits, I'm going to try and look them up and see if any Linux version is planned.
