hulu in other countries

hi people. my issue is not specifically related to arch linux but generally linux. what i want to know is that if there is any program that will change my ip so that i can go to usa websites. if you find any working instructions on doing so or any program, please post it here in this thread. i dont care if you find a program with only deb and rpm packages, post it here anyway.

Search for a proxy server outside the US.

Like it said @Ramses de Norre, try with proxys but in my experience using a proxy is not a good solution to see videos (very slow).

Also, I found out that Hulu bypasses any proxies so they wont work.

Re: hulu in other countries

I guess hulu is an "impossible-to-watch-outside-of-us" website.

I don't know a lot on the topic, but from my understanding you need an access to a vpn server located in USA (in your case), not to install the vpn server on your computer. Many offers are found on the web for such a service, prices vary depending on the spec. of the VPN server, that you can access installing a client.

Re: hulu in other countries

In the Windows world there is an app called Hotspot Shield, which essentially is a VPN service that allows users outside USA access sites like hulu.

Maybe this link helps: http://markusthielmann.com/blog/hotspot_shield_ubuntu. "xl2tpd" is in Community.

Re: hulu in other countries

Why do you need hulu? Aren't there other sites similar to it available in other countries? Or what about p2p services?

I think so. This also means you have to create an account at Hotspot Shield.

I didn't really follow the guide, because by the time I found it I was just too pissed off at the whole US-only video sites thing I just copied both url and guide to a text file, and decided to let it cool off, but I forgot about it until I saw your post, sorry.
