Weird fonts (like symbols) in some apps

Hi all I've have since some time a strange problem, look at the picture

It happens only with some programs, the most part is OK.. AFAIK for now as you can see in the picture, only Openoffice and Hp-Toolbox are affected.
I've already done some research in the forums, some guy had in the past the same symbols but the solutions applied by them doesn't apply for me..

I run a [testing] system, nvidia latest drivers If it is useful to know.

I've found also GE affected by this bug.. so 2 QT apps and one (oo) that uses its own libs..

back again on this.. now only GE is affected.

in the image, I entered "Lecco" in the upper left box. Seems like it is using Webdings as font

change QT style of GE doesn't solve.. does anyone has this problem too?
