Cannot locate some packages

I am sorry if this question has been asked before. I have been noticeing that some of the packages mentioned on wiki pages reference AUR and community repositories. I have checked that I do indeed have these lists enabled for pacman but when I try and find some of the referenced packages pacman is unable to find them. One example is firestarter. If i type in pacman -Ss fire or firestarter it cannot find it? I should also mention that I have updated the package lists for all the repositories by issueing a pacman -Sy.  Am I not doing something correctly or do I need to use a different mirror. The current mirror that I am using is easynews because its literally in the same city I am in.

Re: Cannot locate some packages

Nevermind I think I answered my own question.

some packages are in AUR and not in community. I was not sure exactly how that was setup but now I have a better idea. I thought they were the same thing and the web interface was just a way to browse though the packages located in the repository. I see now there is a unsupported option in the pacman.conf that I could turn on to get it directly.

Re: Cannot locate some packages

Actually pacman won't install stuff from the AUR; you'll have to build it yourself with makepkg.  http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AUR
