Well... As the title says it... Sometimes when I boot up I notice that MPD and the Flash plugin (in any browser) are giving no sound... So MPD ist playing but I hear nothing, same with youtube for example... Maybe it applies to other progs as well, but thats what I noticed...
The interesting part is that when I open any song/video in VLC it works just fine...
I tried to remove all kernel modules related to sound and insert them back and then restarting alsa and mpd daemons, but it didn't help. The only thing helping is rebooting and hoping that it gonna work...
Can someone explain whats going on and how to fix it? Thanks in advance...

Thanks... well, thats not exactly the same problem... nothing is blocked, I just hear nothing... And it is just sometimes, seemingly depending on how the booting process was, because after booting up, it either works or not until the next reboot, like a 50/50 chance...
Anyway, I did comment out the line... Now I'm going to look whether its going to happen again or not...

Do you use Alsa or Pulseaudio? There is a mpd-pulse package if you want to try.
I have alsa in DAEMONS array in rc.conf file and here is my mpd conf file link.

I use just ALSA, but thanks...
I don't see there any logic but it seems that commenting that line helped, although I have completely different symptoms and the "device" was set to dmix, so not directly to a hardware device...
Nevertheless I can't be sure about it because of the random nature of my problem and I don't want to reboot my PC 10 times xD
