Re: openoffice 2.0 preview in [unstable]

As for printing with Oo.org under Gnome: I found a bug report in Oo's bugtracker that mentions this issue (printer selection empty). It seems to be fixed in workspace vcl36. It's not integrated in the current milestone 680_m77 but shound get in soon I guess.

I'm thinking of building using oo-build from Ximian. They fixed up the source to be 100% GCC 3.4 compatible, now hope our python isn't too new.

Re: openoffice 2.0 preview in [unstable]

has anyone got aditional language packages working? I tried to install the dutch additions using:

pacman -S openoffice2 openoffice2-nl openoffice2-spellcheck-nl

Installation output gives one error (pacman comments are omitted):

checking package integrity... done.
loading package data... done.
checking for file conflicts... done.
installing openoffice2... done.
installing openoffice2-nl... done.
 ERROR: Cannot determine spool directory
installing openoffice2-spell-nl... done.

I don't have a printer installed so i guess that might be the case of the error message. Ooo2 runs perfectly, except that it cannot find the Dutch language pack, nor the dutch spellchecker. In the resource folder there are files ending with nl, so i think the installation is correct.

Any thoughts are appriciated

Re: openoffice 2.0 preview in [unstable]

Got the dutch dictionary working now. I had to manually add the entries to the dictionary.lst file.

Re: openoffice 2.0 preview in [unstable]

I've edited a Novell splash to go with the 2.0 Arch version to replace the work-in-progres one. Save it in /opt/openoffice2/program/

Re: openoffice 2.0 preview in [unstable]

hi the problem is that nl havent' provided the right language pack.
so it is possible that this is not working.
will probably fixed in next version, for nl spellcheck i'll look at my PKGBUILD but it should work out of the box.

Re: openoffice 2.0 preview in [unstable]

Todays m77 crashes when I try to open or save a file (when it should display GTK+'s file chooser) with the message:

/opt/openoffice2/program/soffice.bin: symbol lookup error: /opt/gnome/lib/libgnomevfs-2.so.0: undefined symbol: xmlTextReaderConstName

Re: openoffice 2.0 preview in [unstable]

does anyone knows how to export a writer document to the old .sxw format (or even a .doc format?) If i change the extension after "save as.." Ooo2.0 crashes, if i copy all the text and load it in Ooo1.1.4 it creates an SvOutPlaceObject in the Ooo1.1.4 document. I tried right clicking but that also makes Ooo2.0 crash. Tried export function but that only let's me make a PDF file....

Ofcourse I tried to open a .odt file in Ooo1.1.4 but that only gives me an empty document, well at least the title is correct

  help......

Re: openoffice 2.0 preview in [unstable]

for me it works with "save as", btw nl langpack has been removed from unstable, because no package was provided anymore.

Hi, if I choose save as.. and add the extension .sxw it also works, but, if I open it with Ooo1.1.4 I get an empty document. Are there other users with similar problems, and/ or solutions?

About the Dutch language package, doesn't mind, It feels kinda strange having a Dutch program anyway , to much used to english nowadays wink

Re: openoffice 2.0 preview in [unstable]

Splash screens are vanilla (I've used the stock RPM's under PCLinuxOS 8.1, and it looks the same as here).
EDIT: Sorry for the post, tpowa has already answered that...

Try to put

export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome

in your .xsession or .xinitrc before running WM.

Just a guess but it might be a path problem.

There is no spellcheck package for norwegian. Is there a way to get it?

Just insert your old spell/hyphenation/thesaurus files to /opt/openoffice2/share/dict/ooo and the edit dictionary.lst accordingly.
You might also wish to wait a little, as OOo2 beta 1 is now officially out and should appear at Arch repos soon.

Re: openoffice 2.0 preview in [unstable]

Thunderbird works just fine with 1.9.79, no need to pass any switches for having the attachment at place- so my previous complaint doesn't apply anymore!  tongue
