[Solved]yaourt abnormal

Since last update (maybe 3 or 4 days ago), my yaourt can't work any more. It always reports that "usr/bin/yaourt: line 783: /usr/bin/package-query: cannot execute binary file" .

Does anybody encounter this problem?

Re: [Solved]yaourt abnormal

Moderator edit: I think we can do without the bashing and the fanboyism.

I think this kind of yaourt bashing and promoting of other programs is really unnecessary and tiresome. I hope the moderators will put a stop to this.

@wwang - there have been a few threads on yaourt and package-query recently. You should do a search and see if your issue is similar. Yaourt has been updated recently. Perhaps you might need to reinstall package-query?

Agreed. Theres no reason at all to keep insulting yaourt (and therefore the yaourt developers) all over the forums. It's become a trend recently..

I have tried to reinstall package-query, but it still doesn't work.

I also doubt that it's package-query's problem.
When I run "yaourt -Syu",  system can be updated, except a warning which shows "/usr/lib/yaourt/abs.sh: line 113: /usr/bin/package-query: cannot execute binary file"

Re: [Solved]yaourt abnormal

Oh, I'm sure that it's package-query's problem .
My package-query becomes a  64-bit executable file, but my system is 32-bit.

Re: [Solved]yaourt abnormal

I download package-query's source code and build it myself, and now yaourt works fine.
My problem resolved.  smile

Re: [Solved]yaourt abnormal

I would just like to say that as much as I like peoples strong enthusiasm about the said program (that I created) being promoted that I do not approve of the bashing of Yaourt, even you feel the other is better, and despite my current signature about what bruenig said about his program and Yaourt. >.>

Remember, if there had never been a Yaourt I would never have created the one I did.

There are times, places and proper ways for promoting the other programs, now, here, and by bashing Yaourt are not them.

All you succeed in doing is giving yourself, my program, and me a bad name.
