Is it still April Fools Day? I don't know how would this be possible (but IANA musician), can you give me some links describing the procedure?
"Rendering" a midi to wav / mp3 etc. is easy.

there are some tools, but they depend heavily on context (which instrument do you want to convert), and they work best if the mp3 only contains the instrument you're interested in.
also prepare for suboptimal results.

Yep...it can sort of be done...but it is ugly.  It also depends on what the desired end output product is. 

I've seen folks try to take MP3->MIDI->and then feed MIDI output to a sheetmusic program (commercial versions of both Finale and Sibelius).  Yikes.  Holy-Unreadable-Ink Slop Batman.  And they were using expensive professional quality tools.  Was less trouble to do dictation with a CD than to do it digitally with computer.
