[Solved] LXDE Volume control

Hello.

I have been looking on the wiki and searching the forum, but I cant seem to find a solution to a simple question. I just want a volume control in lxde so I can control volume and mute/unmute the mic etc..! What can I install!?

Also, I assume the control will go on the right of the time (currently, there is an "x" icon there).

Thanks guys.

Check out volwheel, it's in the community repo.

Thanks, added that via pacman, then added it to my panel (Right Click on the panel, Add/Remove Panel Items and then added Volume Control) but that only has volume control, not Mic.

Thanks.

Re: [Solved] LXDE Volume control

If you left click the tray icon and press the mixer button it opens alsamixer for you, there you can set the mic levels.

That's kinda curt TheAccountant, barzam is only trying to help you.  To help, give information to what guide you are referring and be aware that FYI can sometimes be seen as crass.

That's not volwheel, that's the lxpanel plugin. Volwheel will not appear in the 'panel items' list, you start it manually and then an icon will appear in the system tray.

Sorry about that, wasn't my intention. I just wanted to convey that I followed the standard install and am not trying anything new or novel. Looking back I should have cited the "Beginners' Guide".  I shall drop the FYI, although I have never had a problem using on other forum, but no matter...
