Disabling my on-board sound card

Hi,

My on-board sound card got broken for some reason, as I couldn't hear anything neither on my Arch Linux or on Windows Vista. That's why I got a new PCI sound card and connected it to my computer. When I booted my computer it automatically installed the driver without any problem. Thanks to Linux wide hardware support.

Since I am using my new sound car, I was wondering how I can disable my on-board sound card on the startup so that it never loads to use extra resource.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Disabling my on-board sound card

On many motherboards you can disable the on-board sound card directly in the BIOS.
