I have installed galculator, and I get these as a present when I start it:
[tomislav@shakenbake ~]$ galculator
(galculator:22350): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_ref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
(galculator:22350): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_set_icon_list: assertion `GDK_IS_PIXBUF (pixbuf)' failed
(galculator:22350): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **: gdk_pixbuf_get_width: assertion `GDK_IS_PIXBUF (pixbuf)' failed
(galculator:22350): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **: gdk_pixbuf_get_height: assertion `GDK_IS_PIXBUF (pixbuf)' failed
(galculator:22350): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
[tomislav@shakenbake ~]$
they are annoying, but the program seems to be working fine. Has anyone had these kind of errors?

If the program works, then why is this so critical?

I put the caps where they belong .
No need to shout, if it's an emergency, call 911.

hehehehehe I named it critical because that's occuring in the output message....
If you guys say to ignore this, I'm more than happy to do so. I'm just annoyed by these warning messages...

Ow ok, reading the title it appeared as if the programming nearly made your pc explode.
Many programs raise such errors and, as you noticed, the programs mostly work nonetheless. So I guess you can safely ignore them, hopefully the developers wont ignore them and fix them in the next release or so.

Ignore it - Firefox does the same thing on my machine

Allrighty then... at least now I know I don't need to worry about the warning messages. I guess I need to be really careful with capitals. I didn't know that, thanks for the information, didn't mean to cry out: "Wolf!" for nothing.

Programmers don't care about warnings, only errors. That's why most programmers are chain smokers.
The human being created civilization not because of willingness but of a need to be assimilated into higher orders of structure and meaning.

That depends on what you program I guess... I was taught to treat warnings as errors. I don't smoke, but it makes me eat junk food in vast quantities. Sugar seems to dampen the effect of the warning messages.
