dolphin, rightclick -> properties painful slow sometimes. [SOLVED]

Can't say when it started or if i never noticed it before,
but when i right-click on a big video file and select properties (4gb h264 in mkv is a valid case) in dolphin,
hd starts to read something for very long time.
meantime, dolphin appears to be totally dead, after long time properties window finally appears.

console messages seems to be useful:

[..]
dolphin(4786)/kdecore (services) KMimeTypeFactory::parseMagic: Now parsing  "/usr/share/mime/magic"
dolphin(4786)/KFileMetaInfo KFileMetaInfoPrivate::init: KUrl("file:///MyVideoFileHere.mkv")
[..]

Dolphin hangs just after KFileMetaInfo.
Is there a way to disable it?

If you close Nepomuk, the hang will stop.

I've nepomuk search feature disabled in kde.
Do i have to manually kill nepomukserver too or is there a better way?

I've just started noticing this too, after I upgraded last night.

I can confirm that konqueror is reading the entire file when I click properties. This is really noticeable on encrypted filesystems, since the kcryptd process goes to the top on 'top'.

There doesn't seem to be any reason for it; not running any nepomuk-type things here (the nepomuk control panel complains that it's disabled), and konqueror doesn't seem to be making preview pictures or anything like that.
