Help with CUPS

Hi to all:

I write this message to request to circulate this terrible event attention to a problem, by CUPS:

http://www.cups.org/str.php?L3548

If anyone knows any alternative printing system (for Arch Linux) that allows me to move forward, I grateful.

I look forward to your comments / tips / suggestions.

Re: Help with CUPS

Ok i tell you how i did it.

My printer does not work with Cups 1.4 too (Canon Pixma MP540) so on Gentoo i just masked >=cups-1.4 what does not work on Archlinux

you can 1. search for cups 1.3 packages and put cups to pacman.conf that it will not be updated or 2. install a VM with Windows and use the Windows drivers

Thanks for your response, but I have two questions:

1. How can I fix this on Arch Linux? (You have solved that on Gentoo).

2. How can I work with CUPS 1.3.x on one updated Arch Linux system?

I can't install VM for MS-Windows ... and I don't want to use MS-Windows.
